*WE ARE A NETWORK AND WORK REMOTELY

We’re moving to a new pond
Hi everyone — we’re Sandro and Anja, the two people behind Oyster. Oyster started back in 2024, during a pretty chaotic moment in our lives. Things shifted, plans changed, and we both jumped into freelance work while figuring out what was next. Sandro started taking on photography jobs. Anja supported small businesses with the same kind of digital work she used to do in bigger companies. Naturally, we ended up creating content side by side and helping brands tell their stories online. And before we noticed, Oyster became a “studio.”
But for us, the whole marketing world has felt strange for a while now. Not just because of AI, but because the internet, especially social media, has turned into this repetitive loop. Everything looks the same. Everything moves too fast. Everything seems polished. And somehow nothing feels real anymore. The stuff with actual soul gets lost.
While building our portfolio, we met a lot of small makers, designers, studio owners, and entrepreneurs. People who are really passionate and skilled at their craft. People who work with their hands, follow their ideas, and create things that outlive trends. And, funnily enough, the ones who stuck with us weren’t the ones prioritizing algorithms — and we think they’re far from alone. There’s a shift happening. We dare to say that many of us are craving slower, more real, less designed for clicks. Because connections still matter. Thoughtful work still matters. And it deserves more space.
So we’re changing direction. We’re still online — that part probably won't disappear — but we want to use it a bit differently from now on. We have something in mind like less noise, or less content for the sake of content. But more stories, more people, more things worth paying attention to. To be more specific, Oyster is shifting into a small editorial project for the moment, where we want to explore the stuff we've always been passionate about: design, craft, interiors, architecture, hospitality, and most importantly, the people behind all of this. We want to highlight makers and brands who deserve attention but don’t have the budget for glossy features or big agencies. Over time, we hope this turns into a community. Maybe one day we’ll host gatherings. Maybe collaborations will come out of it. Maybe it becomes something we can’t picture yet – we literally go with the flow.
So for now, Oyster moves at its own pace (no strict publishing plan). It’s a passion project while we both shift our professional paths a little – more on that soon.
Thanks for reading this far LOL. And thanks for sticking around, supporting us, and caring about small, intentional work in a world that moves too fast.
Cheers,
Anja & Sandro
